After 23 years in the NHS working as an OT and a year in private practice, I’m proud to be starting a new chapter: launching my own Occupational Therapy business — BMOT; pronounced “BeeMOT” (Beverley Maw OT).
My career began as a support worker, where I felt the real pressure and exhaustion that comes with caring. It was there I learned what compassion really looks like. Since then, I’ve worked across many areas, including learning disabilities, rehabilitation, mental health, paediatrics, acute hospital avoidance, and equipment and adaptations. Each role has added to the way I understand people, needs, and what truly matters in care.
Now, I feel ready to bring all that experience into something of my own. BMOT isn’t about profit, publicity or praise — it’s about people. It’s about showing up, being real, and doing the work that matters. I support both adults and children with lifelong or short-term injuries, and I do it with warmth, humour, and the resilience to hold space for the hard moments, too.
I’m not perfect — I’ll never claim to know everything — but I’ll always be honest, and I’ll always work to find the right path forward. I believe in kindness, truth, and keeping things human.
If you’d like to connect, share ideas, or just follow along, I’d love to hear from you.
Here’s to doing things differently — and doing them with 💚
